How to fix (command line to long error) GameRanger

If you got your copy of MW4 Mercs. through Mektek this can cause an error with the GameRanger interface.

Fix for windows 7 (all versions)

1. Open MW4 Mercs normally and delete all server info.
2. Delete all other pilots in your list except the one you use normally. (no more smurfing)
3. close MW4 Mercs.
4. Go to program files x86,and locate your MTX folder.
5. Grab Mechwarrior Mercenaries-Mektek Mekpak from the MTX folder and drag it to your desktop.
6. Now delete the MTX folder.
7. Place the Mechwarrior file back into your program files X86 folder.
8. Link it to your GameRanger console.

If you did it right then the error will go away,and your ready to rock!

However if SaKhan {ICM}Sandtigers servers are still active i'm going that direction.. hands down..

ya that would b the way 2 go judge but theres no plp playing there now last few days was lucky 2 see 1 or 2 players its all over i can hear the fat lady singing lol

but a few days b4 me and robinhood was in there and it did attract a few plp in there could have been 10 plp at 1 time so i think if we had a few more ICM plp in there it mite attract more plp in there cause no 1 wants 2 play in a mt server

but dont forget 2 copy ur game out of the mektek.net folder anywhere on ur pc mine runs from anywhere so it dont realy matter where u copy it and remove mtx though add and remove programs and i can still join sands though ip without mtx so alls good

tks baz ya i did get it going tks 2 Optimusprime from USA , these is wat i had 2 do go in to the gameranger then edit then options then u will c a list of games sellect mercs and then in the location box hit browse then go 2 where the game is installed c: program files mektek of watever u called it and double click on the mw4 exe and it should work

Ooops, this shout does not like backslash, file locations should have a backslashs but they not showing here.... GRRrrrrr

The Mektek files folders issue, Create a directory of the root drive and call it 'mektek' or something simple, so it will look like this..
C:MEKTEK
and move all files from your present location to c:mektek, the object is to keep the file path short (also avoid spaces/punctuations in the name).
So it should look like
c:mektekmissions
c:mektekusermisiions
c:mektekmw4mercs.exe
etc etc etc
